Who We Are

Founded in 1991, Work Force Development Center a nonprofit 501 c(3), is a vocational training organization specializing in preparing at-risk and disadvantaged high school juniors and seniors, for their respective journeys into the future work force.

Work Force Development Center currently works in conjunction with 21 Snohomish, North King, and Island County high schools in providing a safe and structured work environment that allows students the opportunity to develop skills within the assembly/manufacturing fields that they may not have had otherwise.

Work Force Development Center works in successful and continual partnership, providing significant outsourcing needs with several major companies in the aviation, wire harness and automotive fields. We are in constant search for more companies to add to our current customer base.

Being that we are self supporting, Work Force Development Center's student count is directly related to the amount of work we have in-house at any given time. In short, the more work we have, the more students we are able to serve.

What I liked about Work Force is it a great way to help you graduate on time and it can help out with a job later in life. For me personally, it helps me feed my son. What I don’t like is why this stuff has to be so difficult but I think I need more help with what we are doing.- Jerry Smallwood, Shorewood High School
